The novels I’m writing for the series “Spirits of the Belleview” take place at the historic and, according to many, ‘haunted’ Belleview Biltmore Resort, in the tiny but affluent town of Belleair, Florida. These stories are based on the premise that some spirits remain in this realm with their personalities and memories intact, and that they are able to share experiences from their lives with guests of the hotel whenever a special connection exists between the two.
Each story features spirits from a specific decade of the Resort’s unique and glorious history, and each ghostly connection with the living demonstrates that while some things have changed drastically over time, the temptations of the seven deadly sins never change and it’s never too late to learn from the mistakes of others.
Only one character will be featured throughout the series – the spirit of Margaret Plant (a largely fictional characterization of the second wife of railroad and hotel tycoon, Henry Plant.) As the strongest spirit occupying the Belleview Biltmore Hotel, Margaret is a good-hearted busybody, who likes to be involved in everything and enjoys influencing lives with her motto: “An intelligent and motivated woman with allies can accomplish anything!”

The first novel in the series, “Pearls”, is expected to be published later this year.
Featuring spirits from the Victorian Era; the time when the Resort initially opened its doors to the public, this story begins when a young woman by the name of Honor Macklin comes to stay at the Belleview Biltmore Resort following the sudden death of her Mother, to fulfill her responsibilities as Executor for her Mother’s estate. Recently divorced from her cheating, business-partner husband, Honor arrives at the Resort with a heavy heart and bruised ego. As the story unfolds, a few Spirits of the Belleview who have experienced similar heartaches share their complicated and intriguing tale of friendship, family, ingenuity, loyalty, and sacrifice, helping Honor regain her self-confidence and open her heart to true love.
Additional stories are underway, and I hope to add a new novel to the series each year that the Belleview Biltmore Hotel is closed for renovations. If you would like to be notified when “Pearls” and my other books are available for purchase, please enter your e-mail address on my Home Page.
